Bond University's two actuarial master's programs share the same entry rule, the same English scores and the same intake months. They differ in length, credit points, fees and how much of the Actuaries Institute pathway they cover. This guide sets those details side by side as Bond lists them, for readers applying from anywhere.
The two programs at a glance
Both are coursework master's degrees in the study area "Actuarial Science and Data Analytics". Both are delivered on campus at Gold Coast Campus.
- Master of Actuarial Science: program code BN-13144, CRICOS 108628M.
- Master of Actuarial Practice: program code BN-13146, CRICOS 108630F.
Length and credit structure
The Master of Actuarial Science takes 1 year 4 months, listed as 4 semesters. Its structure is 120 compulsory credit points and nothing else, so the total is 120.
The Master of Actuarial Practice takes 2 years, listed as 6 semesters. It has 160 compulsory credit points and 20 elective credit points, for a total of 180.
Actuaries Institute coverage
Bond says the Master of Actuarial Science covers all components of Part I (the Foundation Program) accreditation with the Actuaries Institute.
The Master of Actuarial Practice is described as accredited by the Actuaries Institute. Bond says it contains all the university components of Part I (Foundation Program) and Part II (Actuary Program) accreditation.
Start dates
Both programs list the same four on-campus intakes:
- September 2026
- January 2027
- May 2027
- September 2027
Entry requirements
The admission criterion is the same for both. You need a recognised bachelor degree, or an equivalent qualification, in any field. You must also meet the subject prerequisites.
Bond's country-specific entries read the same way for both programs. For China and for Taiwan, the qualification listed is a recognised 4-year bachelor degree equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree. The field of study stays open, and the subject prerequisites still apply.
English language scores
Both programs list the same minimums for two tests:
- IELTS Academic: overall 6.5, with no sub-score below 6.0.
- PTE Academic: overall 58, with no Communicative Score below 50.
International tuition
Bond lists fees per semester and for the whole program. These are the 2026 figures:
- Master of Actuarial Science: AUD 20,145 per semester, AUD 80,580 for the program.
- Master of Actuarial Practice: AUD 20,173 per semester, AUD 121,040 for the program.
These are the 2027 figures:
- Master of Actuarial Science: AUD 21,060 per semester, AUD 84,240 for the program.
- Master of Actuarial Practice: AUD 21,090 per semester, AUD 126,540 for the program.
Bond states the fees are a guide only. They vary with the subjects you choose and the year you start, and the fee that applies is the one for your year of entry.
Reading the numbers together
The per-semester rates are close, so the gap in program totals comes from length. The Science program is billed over 4 semesters and the Practice program over 6. Compare the program totals for your intake year, not only the per-semester rate.
The credit structures show the same split. The Science program has no elective credit points. The Practice program leaves 20 for you to choose.
Fees and requirements follow what Bond publishes for the year you enrol.
