Montpellier Business School (蒙彼利埃商学院) is a French Grande Ecole of management founded in 1897 by the Montpellier Chamber of Commerce and Industry, teaching from a main campus at 2300 Avenue des Moulins in Montpellier and a second campus at 57 Bd Saint-Germain in Paris. International applicants have three main entry points: the three-year Bachelor of International Business Administration, the two- or three-year Grande Ecole Programme leading to a Master’s degree, and the English-taught Masters of Science. Everything in this guide comes from Montpellier Business School’s own website (mbs-education.com, the destination of the official montpellier-bs.com domain), accessed on 5 August 2026.
Who Montpellier Business School is
Montpellier Business School describes itself as a Grande Ecole of management founded in 1897 by the Montpellier Chamber of Commerce and Industry, built on academic excellence and values of ethics, openness, diversity, responsibility and global performance. The school reports 3,600+ students, more than 100 permanent faculty members (65%+ international), 1,200+ international students on campus from around 80 countries, and 24,000+ alumni across 100+ countries.
The main campus sits at 2300 Avenue des Moulins in Montpellier, described by the school as a campus steeped in nature, with a Learning Center, a Bloomberg trading room, an entrepreneurship center and incubator, and accessible buildings with a Twavox hearing system. From the start of the 2027 academic year, Montpellier Business School plans to move to a new eco-campus in the Cambacérès eco-district, about 10 minutes from Montpellier city centre and close to the Sud de France TGV station and the international airport, designed to accommodate 5,000 students. The Paris campus at 57 Bd Saint-Germain in the 5th arrondissement (Latin Quarter) hosts a subset of programmes.
On accreditations, Montpellier Business School holds AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accreditations — the school notes this “Triple Crown” combination applies to fewer than 1% of schools worldwide — plus the BSIS label held since 2015, the Qualiopi mark, the Welcome to France level 2 label, and recognition as a Private Higher Education Institution of General Interest (EESPIG). Its Grande Ecole Programme is accredited by AACSB and EQUIS, and its Bachelor diploma (DMIA) is recognised at Licence (Bac+3) level by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, registered as RNCP n°38756.
Bachelor of International Business Administration
The Bachelor of International Business Administration (BIBA) is Montpellier Business School’s three-year undergraduate programme, taught in English or bilingually in French and English, with September or January intake. The school describes it as open to students right after the high school diploma, with up to 18 months of international experience and a possible international double degree in the final year.
Entry is by year level, assessed against ECTS credits. First-year admission is open to holders, or likely holders, of a qualification equivalent to the French baccalaureate (high school diploma); second-year admission requires one academic year after high school with 60 ECTS or equivalent; third-year admission requires two academic years with 120 ECTS or equivalent, plus at least one core management subject studied. Selection consists of an English test (coefficient 15, one hour) and an individual interview (coefficient 30, 25 minutes).
English requirements depend on the track and year. For the English track, Montpellier Business School requires a minimum of 700 TOEIC, 85 on the MBS English Test by Méréos, 75 TOEFL, 5.5 IELTS, 90 Duolingo English Test, 60 ICIMS, or Cambridge B2 for first and third years; second-year English-track minimums are 700 TOEIC, 85 MBS, 75 TOEFL, 5.5 IELTS, 90 Duolingo, 60 ICIMS. For the bilingual track, no minimum English score is required in year one, 600 TOEIC in year two, and 650 TOEIC in year three; students whose mother tongue is not French must pass a French test (TCF, DELF or DALF) at B2 minimum. Candidates without a recognised English score receive a free link to the MBS English test.
The application is submitted through the school’s online platform, with a 90 euro application fee. Required documents include a CV (in French or English depending on the track), a copy of the highest degree in the original language (certified translation into English or French if not in French, English or Spanish), official transcripts for the last three years of study, an identity card or passport, one identity photo, and an English or French score if available.
Grande Ecole Programme (Master in Management)
The Grande Ecole Programme is Montpellier Business School’s flagship Master in Management, a two- or three-year programme leading to a state-recognised Master’s degree (Bac+5), taught in English or bilingually in French and English, with September intake. It is registered as RNCP n°36551, recognised by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research after evaluation by the CEFDG, and accredited by AACSB and EQUIS.
Year 1 entry requires at least two progressive academic years after high school with 120 ECTS credits (or equivalent), validated before 31 October of the examination year. Year 2 entry is also possible. Selection combines an English test (coefficient 15, one hour) and a pre-recorded video interview (coefficient 30, 25 minutes). The English minimum is 700 TOEIC, 85 MBS English Test, 75 TOEFL IBT, 5.5 IELTS, 90 Duolingo, 60 ICIMS, or Cambridge B2, with scores less than two years old. For the bilingual track, non-native French speakers need a French test (DALF, DELF or TCF) at B2 minimum, or take a free MBS French test link.
The programme includes a minimum of 12 months’ professional experience and compulsory academic mobility: students entering in year 1 complete one semester of academic mobility (in year 1 semester 2, or in year 2), and non-work-study students entering in year 2 complete one compulsory semester in the second semester of year 2. In the final year, non-work-study students can spend a full year at an international partner university and earn a double degree — the Master in Management from Montpellier Business School plus a Master’s, MSc or MBA from the partner — without extending the duration of study or adding tuition fees. Work-study (alternance) is available, with tuition covered by the host company and a salary paid to the student.
The application runs through the eCampus portal with a 90 euro fee: apply online with the required documents, submit an official English test score (or receive the free MBS English Test link), and complete the pre-recorded video interview. Results are communicated by email.
